ReplyDeleteInside the vault there was a box, a rolled up paper and an envelope, addressed to her. Lena opened the box and there they were, the magnificent Roman gold coins, worth 5 million according to the exiled king. The paper was an old portrait tagged “For Mei”. She smiled. “My father.” The envelope was sealed.

ReplyDeleteHe was the mayor. All decisions came to him every day. There was not a dollar spent on this city that he didn’t approve first. When he presented to the city council his plans for the future of his city they all looked at each other, thinking the same thing. Does he think he’s king?
