  1. Tradition

Chimako smiled when her friends teased her.
She should go clubbing with them and have some fun. She would bow her head smiling begging off because of chores to do. They knew that she had many chores but they saw them as unnecessary.

Chimako of a thousand truths understood tradition, even in a big city.

  2. #24 The Woman in a Kimono

She felt they were being followed. While Lena dug around the cross, she kept watch.
    “There’s someone out there...”
    “You’re imagining things.”
    She wasn’t.
A woman in a kimono appeared from behind a bush. “Did you get the key?” she whispered.
    Lena jumped. “Who are you?!”
“I am your ticket to success,” and she bowed.

  3. A deadly gentler touch

Nobody expected she would dare, everybody expected her brother to lead the Family now.
But he would have been as messy and unrefined as her now dead brothers and Father.
No one was ready for her, nor her little brother, nor the older male chauvinist Family members, nor the other families, not even Tokyo.
